Heather Salverino is a writer, advocate, and entrepreneur from Sulphur Springs, Texas. With more than two decades of experience running her family's beloved Plain & Fancy Sandwich Shoppe, Heather has built her life around community, kindness, and connection. Now, she's turning those same values into children's books that celebrate inclusion, humor, and heart.
Her Oops, I'm Awesome series was inspired by her own journey with vision loss and her belief that every child deserves to see themselves as the hero of the story. Heather writes with wit, warmth, and a dash of sass - reminding kids (and grown-ups) that our differences don't hold us back, they help us shine. When she isn't writing, you can find her cheering on her grandchildren, brainstorming new business ideas, or plotting her next adventure with her husband, Cody.
